The Best Time of Year to Get Married in Cyprus

Cyprus enjoys over 320 days of sunshine a year — but which season truly delivers the perfect wedding weather, atmosphere, and light? Our month-by-month guide.

Cyprus is blessed with one of Europe's most consistently beautiful climates — but there are still meaningful differences between the seasons when it comes to planning a wedding. Here's our honest, experience-based guide to every time of year.

Spring: April & May — Our Top Recommendation

Spring is arguably the finest time to marry in Cyprus. Temperatures sit comfortably between 20°C and 26°C — warm enough for outdoor ceremonies without the intensity of summer heat. The landscape is at its most lush and green, wildflowers cover the hillsides, and the light has a particular golden quality that photographers adore.

April and May also see fewer tourists, meaning venues are more available, prices are generally more favourable, and your ceremony setting won't feel crowded. If you're planning an intimate elopement or a small ceremony on a beach, spring offers the rare gift of feeling like you have Cyprus to yourselves.

Early Summer: June — Beautiful but Warming

June marks the beginning of the Mediterranean summer. Temperatures climb to the low 30s. It remains beautiful, and the long evenings — sunset falls around 8:15pm — make for magical photography. Outdoor morning ceremonies work well before the heat builds.

Peak Summer: July & August — Know What You're Choosing

July and August are hot. Temperatures regularly exceed 35°C, and some days touch 40°C. For outdoor ceremonies, early morning (7–9am) or evening (after 6pm) timing is essential. Many couples who choose summer do so specifically for the drama of that heat — the shimmer on the sea, the bleached-gold landscape, the intensity of the light at golden hour.

"We married at 7am on a July morning and it was the most incredible light we've ever seen. Worth every early alarm." — Anna & Marco, married July 2024

Autumn: September & October — A Perfect Balance

September and October offer the warmth of summer without the extremes. Temperatures sit between 26°C and 32°C. The sea is at its warmest — perfect if a post-ceremony swim is on your agenda. The tourist season begins to wind down, giving venues and the island a more peaceful, intimate quality.

Late Autumn & Winter: November through March

The quietest season for weddings — but far from impossible. Temperatures remain mild (14–20°C), and on sunny winter days Cyprus is genuinely beautiful. Venues offer their best rates, and the island has an unhurried, authentic quality. For couples who don't need beach-weather warmth and value privacy and value, winter in Cyprus can be a wonderful choice.

Our Honest Recommendation

If you want the most reliably beautiful wedding weather, choose late April to early June, or September to October. These windows offer warmth, manageable temperatures, beautiful light, and a more relaxed atmosphere than peak summer.

Whatever time of year you choose, we'll help you make the absolute most of it. Browse our ceremony services or get in touch to discuss your ideal date.
